Aluminium trays, handmade in London since 1947
Kaymet has made trays and serving trolleys in anodised aluminium since 1947, by hand in its own factory in Peckham, London. Founder Sydney Schreiber came up with the idea after the Second World War, when the company, which had made parts for radios and radar, was looking for new work for its machines.
Kaymet is not in our webshop. Debecker supplies the aluminium trays on request.
A royal connection
In 1948 Kaymet's trays caught the eye of Queen Mary at the British Industries Fair. In 2018 Kaymet received a Royal Warrant as a supplier to the British court, and in 2020 a Queen's Award for Enterprise for international trade.
Anodised aluminium
Anodised aluminium has a hard, coloured layer that is part of the metal itself. That gives a light tray a glossy colour that does not flake off like paint. Kaymet makes its trays in several shapes, sizes and colours.
In the venue
An aluminium tray is light to carry and stands out in the dining room, at the bar or for room service. One colour per venue, or a mix of colours, makes the tray part of the interior.
Preparing your request
Mention what the trays are for: carrying in the dining room, room service or presenting at the bar. Give the size and number you need, and whether you want one colour or a mix. That lets us see which shapes and colours are available.
