How to choose table cutlery

You judge cutlery in the hand. Look at the weight, the length of the handle and the finish. A heavier knife sits steadily in the hand, a long handle suits large plates.

Choose the collection first, then the pieces. A brasserie needs no more than a knife, fork, spoon and coffee spoon. A restaurant with several courses adds dessert cutlery, fish cutlery or a steak knife from the same collection.

Count per piece: the number of covers, the cutlery that is in the wash during service, and a reserve. Cutlery goes missing faster than plates.

Robert Welch or Comas

Robert Welch has made British design cutlery since 1955. Collections such as Radford, Arden, Kingham, Blockley and RW2 are polished to a shine (Bright), some also come in matt (Satin) or Vintage. Robert Welch's soup spoon is our table spoon: the spoon of about 20 cm that lies next to the knife.

Comas has a wide range, from Madrid, London and Hotel to the BCN Satin series in gold, black, copper and champagne. Some collections have an XL fork and XL knife, or a pizza knife and fork.

Frequently asked questions

What does table cutlery include?

Do I buy cutlery individually?

No, per pack. Robert Welch comes in packs of 12. The number is shown with each product.

Can I order more pieces later?

Yes, as long as the brand makes the collection. That is why it is best to choose a collection that has every piece you need.

What is the difference between Bright, Satin and Vintage at Robert Welch?

Bright is polished to a shine, Satin has a matt brushed finish and Vintage has a weathered finish. Not every collection comes in all three.
